Boat Transport FAQ
Straight answers about quotes, timing, prep, insurance questions, and what Logi Transports needs before pickup.
These are the questions owners ask us most often before booking a move. If your situation is unusual — extreme beam, remote dirt access, or a purchase closing in three days — call (864) 791-5644 or email quotes@logitransports.com and we will talk through it.
1. How do I get an accurate quote?
Send boat dimensions, origin and destination ZIPs, preferred dates, and photos. Height and beam drive permits and equipment more than people expect. A vague “25-foot boat from Florida to New York” produces a vague number; a measured LOA/beam/height with trailer photos produces a plan you can actually schedule. Start here: how to get a boat quote.
2. How long will my boat take to arrive?
Short regional moves may complete in a few days once equipment is assigned. Cross-country hauls often need a week or more depending on permits, weather, and driver hours. We give windows, not fantasy overnight promises. Peak spring and fall seasons can add wait time before pickup even begins.
3. Do I need to be present at pickup and delivery?
Someone authorized should be available — you, a yard manager, or a broker with written authority. We need access, signatures on condition notes, and a place to stage the truck safely. If you cannot attend, arrange a designated contact and share gate codes ahead of time.
4. What prep is required before haul day?
Remove loose gear, secure canvas, drain water where required, and follow the checklist we send. Sailboats often need mast work coordinated with the yard. Full guidance: prep for haul.
5. Can you move a boat that is still in the water?
Yes, when a marina or yard can haul it onto a trailer or cradle on schedule. Crane and travel-lift time is usually arranged by you or the yard; we coordinate truck arrival around that appointment. Soft bottoms, blocked travel lifts, and weekend-only yards should be mentioned when you request the quote.
6. Are you a carrier or a broker?
Logi Transports LLC is a licensed motor carrier (MC-1636889, USDOT 4230991). Boat Transport Near Me is our specialty site for recreational boat owners. We plan and haul with accountability — we do not simply auction your load to unknown operators.
7. What about insurance and damage claims?
Ask us about cargo coverage for your specific load when you quote. Document the boat’s condition with photos before pickup and review the condition report at delivery. Report concerns immediately. Policies and limits vary by load type; we explain what applies to your move before you book.
8. Which boats do you haul most often?
Powerboats and center consoles, sailboats with mast considerations, and recreational yachts that fit highway equipment. See powerboats, sailboats, yachts, and the overview at boat transport. Coverage geography is summarized on coverage.

When in doubt about a measurement, round up and send a photo — correcting early is cheaper than correcting at the ramp. If you are comparing carriers, ask who holds the authority, how condition is documented, and whether the quoted window includes permit time.
